Counting nearly 1'200 employees, the Department of Acute Medicine (DMA) includes the services of anesthesiology, clinical pharmacology and toxicology, intensive care and emergencies. It responds to a quadruple mission through its services that provide their expertise in frequent interaction with all of the Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève, thanks to a transversal platform, with the aim of ensuring the best possible care for patients. The Emergency Service is a transversal service that has the mission of receiving patients 24/7, regardless of the nature of their health problem, ensuring rapid and effective care in order to direct them to the most appropriate structure. The Emergency Service also provides emergency medical assistance at the cantonal level, coordinates and manages major events, while being a reference service for the canton's structures. The Subaquatic and Hyperbaric Medicine Unit (UMSH), equipped with a double hyperbaric chamber, is integrated into the emergency service and takes care of both elective and emergency patients. Job Description ## You participate in clinical, administrative, research, and teaching activities to ensure the efficient functioning and development of the UMSH, in close collaboration with the unit's responsible physician, whom you replace. You participate in all clinical activities, ranging from the care of elective or emergency patients referred for possible indications for hyperbaric oxygen therapy, as well as consultations for leisure and professional diving aptitude. You participate in the care of hyperbaric emergencies 24/7 according to the planning of the duty roster. You participate in discussions of complex cases and interdisciplinary meetings. You participate in prevention and supervision activities for professionals in hyperbaric environments. You contribute to pregraduate and postgraduate training (doctors, nurses, students, others). You are involved in university teaching (UNIGE). You participate in fundamental, clinical, or translational research projects in hyperbaric medicine and diving. You contribute to scientific valorization (publications, congresses). You participate in the daily operational management of the unit. You participate in the development, updating, and implementation of protocols and procedures. You represent the UMSH in internal or external working groups. You participate in the strategic development of the unit (new indications, innovations). You are involved in institutional projects. You contribute to the development of collaborations. You assist the unit's responsible physician in all activities, from supervising medical activities to teaching, research, and unit management, as well as designing the unit's policy. Qualifications ## You hold a federal diploma as a physician or equivalent training recognized by MEBEKO and a specialist title with the AFC in subaquatic and hyperbaric medicine or equivalent. You have the right to practice in the canton of Geneva. You have an interest and experience in teaching and research. You have an interest and/or experience in management and management. You have already demonstrated your ability to lead and carry out projects in a multidisciplinary team. Experience as a physician in a hyperbaric medicine center would be an asset, as would the ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in English.
