Test Automation Engineer

• IT - Quality Management • Bern • Contracting • Full-time • 01.09.2026 - 31.12.2027 • Testing, ISTQB, Test automation, Cucumber Your tasks: • Continuation and expansion of test automation at the System Integration Testing (SIT) level with the E2E test framework ITV (Integrations- und Testverbund) • Testing and evaluating ITV framework and simulation releases as well as new versions • Support and coordination in the further development, integration and optimization of the ITV framework • Collaboration in the redesign of the laboratory strategy with simulation environments in the field of control technology • Analysis of requirements as well as specification of automated and manual test cases • Planning, execution and documentation of test activities across various test levels • Management of test cases and ensuring comprehensive requirement coverage • Analysis and evaluation of test results as well as identification of optimization potential • Tracking of errors as well as coordination of corresponding corrective measures • Close cooperation with development teams, Product Owners and other stakeholders for the continuous improvement of test processes • Promotion of a higher degree of automation in the SIT environment • Active participation in quality assurance throughout the entire software development lifecycle   Your profile: • Completed studies in computer science (FH, ETH or university) or comparable qualification • Several years of practical experience in software testing with a focus on test automation and test scripting, ideally with Cucumber or comparable technologies • Sound knowledge of test management as well as modern test methods and quality processes • Experience in testing cloud-based applications and complex integration landscapes • Good programming skills in Java • Experience with tools such as JIRA XRAY, Splunk, Grafana, IntelliJ and Git • Familiar with agile procedural models and frameworks • Ability to document errors in a structured manner, analyze them and coordinate their rectification • Independent, proactive and solution-oriented way of working • Strong analytical skills and high problem-solving competence • Strong communication and organizational skills as well as enjoyment of working in interdisciplinary teams • Business fluent German skills mandatory
