The Mistral ward is a protected place with a clear daily structure for children between 6 and 12 years old who require intensive child psychiatric support due to psychological stress or acute crises. Together with the children and their families, we create a framework in which safety, trust, and new perspectives can emerge. We stand by children and adolescents in acute crisis situations, provide support and orientation, and rely on reflected, calm action to develop sustainable solutions together. Our pedagogical-therapeutic milieu combines psychodynamic, behavioral therapeutic, and systemic approaches. We work closely with the clinic school, families, and a multiprofessional team to enable development step by step. Your tasks You accompany children in the pedagogical-therapeutic milieu and support them in perceiving their feelings better, developing new coping strategies, and actively helping to shape their therapy process You accompany children in acute crisis situations, establish safety, provide orientation, and support the team in professionally clarifying the crisis You bear co-responsibility in the design and management of group therapies You work closely as a reference person with specialists from pedagogy, psychology, medicine, and therapy You contribute your professional perspective to the diagnostic process and help to develop a shared understanding of the case You work in shift operation without night shifts You take responsibility for documented goal clarifications and the implementation of therapeutic steps in everyday life You shape the cooperation with parents and legal guardians constructively and appreciatively You support new specialists in practical training and accompany them in everyday life You contribute to the further development of our pedagogical quality and to the compliance with the performance goals of the clinic Your profile You have completed training in Social Pedagogy HF / FH or as a Nursing Specialist HF/FH and ideally bring experience in working with children and adolescents You bring the necessary qualification for practical training or are willing to complete a specialist course You enjoy relationship building, daily structure, and working with families You have the ability to reflect on your actions and to remain calm and solution-oriented in crisis situations You are flexible, resilient, and enjoy interdisciplinary cooperation You can provide a clean criminal record (private and special private extract) You have very good German skills in speaking and writing, any additional language is a plus The UPZ The Universitäre Psychiatrische Zentrum Bern (UPZ) is, as a university clinic, the leading competence center for psychiatry and psychotherapy in the capital region.
