Senior Physician for our Anesthesiology (m,f,d)

The Spitalverbund Appenzell Ausserrhoden with the Akutspital Herisau and the Psychiatrisches Zentrum AR in Herisau ensures the expanded basic medical care for the population in the Canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and is also the first point of contact for a large part of the population in the surrounding region. Both locations are relevant for care for the Canton and beyond.

For the Department of Anesthesiology under the leadership of Mr. Markus Bischoff, we are looking for a Senior Physician (80-100 %) starting January 1, 2027, or by arrangement.

Your tasks

• Personal effectiveness in our department as a person and physician - you contribute to ensuring that our patients are always in best hands with us
• You ensure compliance with our standards and develop them together with us - with professionalism, responsibility, and exemplary impact
• You accompany our patients empathetically and competently during the entire perioperative phase
• You actively contribute to the further training of our colleagues and nursing professionals and also contribute your expertise in the interdisciplinary environment as well as in internal training sessions

Your profile

• Curiosity and sustained joy in our field of expertise
• A federal or Swiss-recognized specialist title in anesthesiology
• Several years of professional experience at specialist level
• Sound knowledge of all common general and regional anesthesia procedures, including modern pain therapy
• Willingness for personal development and to shape the clinic
• Very good German skills in speaking and writing (native language or at least level C1)
• Joy in interdisciplinary cooperation, strong communication skills, and a patient-centered attitude
• Personal flexibility and resilience
