Senior Researcher Intelligent Systems & Smart Farming

The Institut für Intelligente Systeme und Smart Farming (ISF) combines application-oriented research with industrial practice. We develop interdisciplinary technical solutions and continue to expand our research activities together with partners from industry and research. For this purpose, we are looking for, immediately or by arrangement: Senior Researcher Intelligente Systeme & Smart Farming. You will actively shape the further development of the ISF, build up your own research activities and cooperations, and bring complex technical systems from the idea to industrial application. ###

Your field of activity

• You acquire, process, and lead application-oriented research and development projects and develop viable project ideas and cooperation models
• You design and realize interdisciplinary technical solutions at the interfaces of software, mechanics, control, and electronics
• You build up your own research activities and prospectively your own research group and participate in the expansion of the ISF within the framework of the performance agreement with the Kanton Thurgau
• You win and supervise industry and research partners, expand the customer base, and develop new services and seminars
• You take on the leadership of several projects, coordinate teams, and support the institute management with technical and strategic tasks
• You are involved in teaching, supervise students as well as project and final theses, and write scientific publications, expert opinions, and reports

Your expertise

• Master's degree from a university in mechanical engineering, product development, electrical engineering, computer science, robotics, or a comparable technical field; PhD an advantage
• More than 10 years of professional experience in a technical company, ideally in system development, mechatronics, automation, robotics, embedded systems, agricultural machinery technology, or related areas
• Proven success in the conception, development, and implementation of complex interdisciplinary systems as well as a strong understanding of systems
• Strong industrial background with an understanding of industrial processes, requirements, and development cycles, as well as experience in collaborating with different technical disciplines and stakeholders
• Experience in acquisition, building partnerships, developing project ideas and cooperation models, as well as in project and team management
• High quality awareness, good German and very good English skills as well as the ability to represent complex technical topics in a target-group-oriented manner and at a strategic level
