Health & Safety Manager (80-100%)

Ensuring electricity in Switzerland

In this responsible function, you will support and enable line managers, project managers, plant managers, as well as service providers in exercising their responsibility for occupational safety and health protection and integrating it sustainably into everyday work. You will manage the regions Basel, Solothurn, Aargau and Zürich as well as adjacent parts of Central Switzerland and thereby make an important contribution to a safe and healthy working environment.

• Carrying out risk assessments and construction site inspections in cooperation with line managers, project managers and plant managers
• Definition and monitoring of required measures to ensure occupational safety and health protection
• Advising and supporting project teams as well as internal and external partners in all matters related to Health & Safety
• Development, planning, coordination and implementation of campaigns and training to sustainably improve our safety culture
• Clarification of events, near-misses and accidents, identification of causes as well as derivation of effective improvement measures in the sense of an open learning and error culture
• Reviewing the implementation and currentness of measures for occupational safety and health protection
• Active participation in the management and further development of the integrated management system (ISO 45001), creation and updating of the necessary documents as well as reviewing their compliance in practice
• Promoting the exchange of knowledge, cooperation and awareness of safety and health topics within the organization as well as with partners in our industry

For this demanding role, we are looking for a positive personality who enjoys working in a team and is used to communicating and presenting in a level-appropriate manner. Furthermore, you bring the following:

• Basic electrical engineering training with further training as a master, technician HF or university degree or an equivalent training
• Qualification as a safety specialist with a federal diploma or as an EKAS safety engineer
• Several years of professional experience in a comparable function in the energy, industry, infrastructure or construction environment
• Structured way of thinking as well as the ability to identify complex relationships and convey them understandably
• Structured, independent and solution-oriented way of working
• Joy in working with different target groups as well as high communication and presentation competence
• Experience in the further development of a positive safety culture and in supporting change processes
• High initiative and a strong sense of responsibility
• German language skills at native level; good Italian or French skills are an advantage
• Joy in working on construction sites and plants within the service area

We are the Health & Safety team of Swissgrid. The focus areas of this team include the advising and coaching of employees, managers and service providers in matters of occupational safety and health protection. We manage, among other things, training modules, conduct safety inspections and support the creation of risk assessments.

In our Health & Safety team with currently eight people, we maintain a good team spirit and are committed with passion to the safety and health of employees and service providers.
