We are looking for a Head of Janitorial and Technical Services for the Nordstern day school, starting on 10. August 2026 or by agreement. Tasks ## • Personnel and technical management of the janitorial team, including employee evaluations, duty planning and responsibility for occupational safety at the school. • Overall responsibility for the operation, maintenance and servicing of the entire school facility, including technical systems, machinery and furniture, as well as for handling disturbances, defects and emergencies. • Responsibility for all cleaning processes and maintenance of outdoor facilities, in particular maintenance and basic cleaning, maintenance of the break area and ensuring winter services. • Organization and provision of infrastructure for school events and external uses during school operations. • Close cooperation with the school management, school team and municipal offices (e.g. school administration, real estate, Grün Stadt Zürich) and participation in meetings. Profile ## • Completed vocational training in a technical field with a specialist certificate as a caretaker, as well as solid experience in building technology and handling complex controls. • Several years of professional and management experience, ideally in a school environment, combined with a high level of service orientation and resilience. • Pronounced social and communication skills, particularly in dealing with a multilingual team, as well as enjoyment of cooperation with school management, school team and pupils in a lively school operation. • Good IT user skills and secure handling of internal programs (e.g. peps.NET). • Very good German language skills in writing and speaking. The Zürich-Glattal school district includes the Affoltern, Seebach and Oerlikon districts. In the 19 schools, around 7200 children are taught. Your place of work is the Nordstern day school, which opened in the 2024/25 school year. The day school includes rooms for 18 primary and 2 kindergarten classes in day school operation, a double sports hall and outdoor facilities with a grass playing field as part of the quartier park and an all-weather pitch. Additionally, 4 kindergartens and care rooms are rented in the municipal settlement Leutschenbach. This building is located about 10 minutes' walk from the school unit. The Head of Janitorial and Technical Services leads a team of eleven employees in the functions of specialist for operational maintenance, substitute (club caretaker) and cleaning staff.
