Head of Primary Level Department (100%) as of 1 September 2027 or by arrangement. The Pädagogische Hochschule Zürich actively shapes education, school, and teaching of today and tomorrow in teaching and research. As one of three departments of the Prorektorat Ausbildung Volksschule, the Abteilung Primarstufe, as the largest department of the Pädagogische Hochschule Zürich, is responsible for the degree programs for the training of future teachers of the target level primary (KUst, Primar or Cycle 1 and 2). The studies are future-oriented, science-based, and practice-oriented and take place in close cooperation with the school sector. Your tasks. * Together with colleagues, you shape the science-based, practice-oriented, and future-oriented training of primary level teachers for Cycle 1 and 2 and ensure its high quality. * You develop the degree programs innovatively and sustainably and position them in the educational landscape. * You bear the overall responsibility for the strategic, professional, personnel, organizational, and financial leadership of the department and ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements. * You represent the department internally and externally, are responsible for its communication, and maintain cooperation within the university as well as with cantonal, national, and international educational partners. * As a member of the Prorektoratsleitung, you further develop the Prorektorat Ausbildung Volksschule across departments and participate in committees and working groups in the development of the university. * Together with the Vice-Department Head, you shape a joint leadership practice based on a shared understanding of leadership and clearly agreed responsibilities. Your profile. * University degree with a doctorate, preferably in educational sciences or subject didactics. * Excellent leadership and management qualities with a pronounced understanding of complex systemic contexts. * Several years of leadership experience at a higher level in the context of a Pädagogische Hochschule, preferably in the performance area of training, as well as corresponding leadership training. * Sound experience in organizational and curriculum development is desired. * Several years of teaching activity in teacher training at a Pädagogische Hochschule and thus a Swiss teaching diploma as well as corresponding higher education didactic qualification. * Profound knowledge of the Swiss Volksschule and the Swiss educational system. * Networking with Pädagogische Hochschulen and universities in Switzerland and abroad as well as the school sector. * Solution-oriented, integral, reliable, and proactive personality with high social competence and teamwork skills.
