Oil Maritime Shipbroker

Mandatory criteria:
You have significant experience as a Tanker Broker in the international maritime sector and have demonstrated your ability to successfully execute tanker chartering operations.

Experience in one or more of the following areas is required:
crude oil;
clean petroleum products (CPP);
dirty petroleum products (DPP);
chemical tankers.

You also have demonstrated experience in developing profitable business relationships and generating revenue, as well as an established network of contacts with shipowners, charterers, traders, operators, and other key market players.

You possess solid knowledge of:
Voyage Charter Parties;
Time Charter Parties;
fret markets;
demurrage principles;
tanker operations;
maritime commercial practices.

Solid knowledge of US LR, MR, and Handy Tanker markets, with experience in the CPP and DPP sectors, is also sought.

Mission:
Braemar Shipbroking Ltd, Geneva Branch, is looking for two experienced Tanker Maritime Brokers to join its Tanker Desk in Geneva.
You will operate in an international and highly competitive environment, with the main mission of developing and executing tanker chartering operations on behalf of shipowners and charterers.
You will bring your market expertise, professional network, and commercial skills to identify opportunities, negotiate transaction terms, and support clients throughout the process, from the initial request to the conclusion of the transaction.
You will work closely with the brokerage, operational, and post-fixture teams, as well as with Braemar's international offices, notably in London, Dubai, and Madrid.

Your main responsibilities:
Organize and negotiate tanker chartering contracts for shipowners and charterers.
Manage the entire process of voyage and time chartering operations, from the initial request to the conclusion of the transaction.
Develop new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with existing clients and partners.
Represent clients' interests during commercial negotiations and maintain lasting professional relationships.
Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate chartering operations under the best possible commercial conditions.
Provide clients with accurate information on markets, freight rates, vessel availability, and trading opportunities.
Ensure active monitoring of international tanker markets, freight rates, vessel movements, geopolitical developments, and commercial trends.
Evaluate business opportunities and their risks, and formulate recommendations to management.
Collaborate with brokers, operational, and post-fixture teams to ensure the proper execution of fixtures.
Ensure clear and effective communication with clients and international teams.
Keep information regarding fixtures, negotiations, market activities, and client relationships up to date.
Participate in professional events, conferences, and meetings with clients.
Report to the Global Head of Tankers and collaborate with the entire international brokerage network.

Your profile:
You are able to work autonomously in a fast-paced, demanding, and international environment.
Additional experience appreciated:
Experience gained within a recognized maritime brokerage firm, a shipowner, a maritime operator, or a commodities trading company constitutes an advantage.
Knowledge of the main tanker segments, notably VLCC, Suezmax, and Aframax, is appreciated.
Knowledge of Middle East LR, MR, and Handy Tanker markets, combined with a good understanding of the time charter market, constitutes an advantage.
Proficiency in French is an important advantage.
