Focus on Virtualization (Server/VDI)

Your tasks: independently, in partnership, and versatile

• You ensure the stable and secure operation as well as the continuous further development of the server infrastructure in the areas of virtualization (VMware), VDI (Omnissa) and Thin Clients (IGEL OS)
• Furthermore, you support the operation and further development of other infrastructure platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Linux, Windows Fileservices and the data center
• You proactively monitor the infrastructures, analyze disruptions and initiate suitable measures to ensure high availability, stability and performance
• You plan, coordinate and realize the rollout of updates, releases and new functions within the framework of change management
• You work closely with internal and external technical teams and support as a competent contact person for complex system adjustments, expansions and technical questions
• You actively participate in IT projects and contribute your expertise to the development and further development of technical specialist concepts
• You ensure compliance with and implementation of security guidelines in your area of responsibility and make an active contribution to the continuous further development of IT security

Your profile: structured, communicative and team-oriented

• Completed IT training, ideally supplemented by further education at tertiary level (HF, FH, Uni) and/or further training or certifications in the areas of VMware by Broadcom, Omnissa Horizon, Red Hat Linux
• Sound practical experience in the operation and further development of VMware vSphere and Omnissa Horizon is mandatory; good practical experience in the administration and operation of Linux server systems, Windows Fileservices and Red Hat OpenShift as well as in data center operations, including the installation and cabling of hardware on-site
• Good knowledge of automation and handling script languages and tools, especially PowerShell and Ansible
• Knowledge in the area of cloud solutions (IaaS/PaaS) and Microsoft Azure is an advantage
• Open, team-oriented, communicative and responsible personality with an exact, structured and independent way of working
• Very good German skills in spoken and written form as well as good technical English skills
• Readiness for on-call duty and the possibility to arrive at the place of work within 30 minutes. A residence in the same or an adjacent canton is therefore an advantage
• Driver's license category B
