Group Leader - medical device reprocessing service - 100%

Under the responsibility of the production manager, you are part of a team of group leaders, sharing the management of the 70 medical device technologists of the service from their start of position and on a daily basis.

You organize and ensure the medical device reprocessing services for all HUG departments (operating rooms, care services or any other internal client) and external clients by relying on your customer service-oriented attitude.

You coordinate the management of medical devices according to good sterilization practices, priorities and urgencies for the operating rooms and the entire clientele.

You know how to analyze situations, decide, work autonomously and in a team in order to optimize the use of technical means in relation to priorities and needs.

Sensitive to the presence of patients and hospital constraints, you supervise and ensure compliance with the application of procedures and protocols defined in the service's quality assurance system and all good professional practices.

Your sense of organization and planning guarantees the management of medical devices according to the resources and needs of the different sectors while ensuring the balance between production needs and the well-being of employees.

Of a positive, optimistic nature and demonstrating listening skills, you motivate and support your employees by developing team spirit. You maintain a climate of partnership in order to proactively manage complex situations involving several professional actors.

You demonstrate rigor and manage with respect and recognition while demonstrating fairness. You ensure that regular feedback is provided to develop your team's skills.

You update the knowledge of your employees as well as your own, relating to medical device reprocessing, through continuous training and congresses.

You have the ideal profile if you hold a CFC as a medical device technologist or possess the STE 2 with 5 years of experience in medical device reprocessing including 1 year in the hospital field, completed by management training with a minimum of 2 years of experience in supervising a team.

You have an exemplary attitude and embody the institutional values (trust, respect, team spirit, recognition, equality & inclusion).

You use Excel and Word office software with ease and, ideally, you have good experience with ERP software.

You have a very good command of the French language, both orally and in writing.

This position requires irregular hours, as the medical device reprocessing service is operational 24h/24 and 365 days/year.

The group leader activity will take place at the Cluse-Roseraie and Vernier sites during the entire period of deployment of the service's activities, i.e., until 2027.

The position is attached to the Département d'exploitation (https://www.hug.ch/departement-exploitation). The mission of this department is to ensure the housekeeping and logistics necessary for the proper functioning of all HUG, in terms of catering, cleaning and disinfection of premises and laundry hygiene. It also manages the medical device reprocessing service, the biomedical and equipment service as well as Cressy-Santé. More than 1,300 professionals carry out their missions daily with constant attention to requirements, with a sense of service and environmental responsibility.

Within the medical device reprocessing service composed of approximately 90 people, under the responsibility of the management team, your mission is to ensure the reprocessing of medical devices as a medical device technologist.
