A growing municipality at the foot of the Jura mountains is looking for a technically strong and communicative personality for building construction and as a deputy for the head of Construction + Planning. The municipality has around 5'600 inhabitants, is located directly west of the cantonal capital, and operates its own construction administration with building construction, civil engineering, planning, and building police. Current projects include, among others, school premises, kindergarten, and the further development of municipality-owned properties.

You will lead the building construction area operationally and represent the department management. You will work closely with authorities, commissions, planners, and contractors and keep costs, deadlines, and quality under control.

Your tasks

• Technical and organizational management of the building construction area
• Deputy for the head of Construction + Planning
• Client function for new, conversion, and renovation buildings of the municipality across the relevant SIA phases
• Management of planners, specialist planners, and contractors; tendering, works contracts, cost and schedule controlling
• Participation in building applications, land-use planning, and matters of the Construction and Environment Commission
• Maintenance and development of municipality-owned buildings including priority and investment planning
• Advising the municipal council, commissions, and population on building construction matters
• Close cooperation with civil engineering, depot, and facility management

Your profile

• Education as an Architect FH/ETH, Civil Engineer, dipl. Bauverwalter/in, Technician TS Hochbau or equivalent
• Several years of practice in Swiss building construction, ideally with client or municipal experience
• Secure knowledge of construction law (cantonal PBG/KBV) and SIA processes
• Leadership competence, negotiation strength, and suitability for committees
• Structured, resilient way of working, very good German skills
• Workload 80 - 100 %
