For our process engineering and chemical laboratories, we are looking for an independent personality who sets up experiments, supervises plants, implements technical solutions, and supports students and lecturers with practical tasks. The Institute for Environmental and Process Engineering UMTEC at the OST - Ostschweizer Fachhochschule develops innovative processes, products, and concepts to minimize environmental impacts. The focuses include, among others, the areas of recycling, waste management, drinking water, wastewater, and exhaust air purification. Further information can be found at UMTEC OST ### Your tasks • Planning, setup, and execution of experiments in our laboratories and process engineering test halls • Support in the development, adaptation, and optimization of procedures, processes, and prototypes • Setup, conversion, and supervision of experimental plants, devices, and technical installations • Execution of practical work in different laboratory and testing environments - from coarse mechanical work to finer activities on analytical devices • Evaluation of experiments as well as visualization and documentation of results • Maintenance, repair, and servicing of devices, machines, and plants • Ensuring order, functionality, and operational readiness in the laboratory and testing environment • Support for internships and study works, especially in the setup, execution, and demonstration of experiments • Cross-departmental support of three specialist groups Your qualification • Completed basic technical training, for example as Automatiker:in EFZ, Automatikmonteur:in EFZ, Physiklaborant:in EFZ, Anlagen- und Apparatebauer:in EFZ, Polymechaniker:in EFZ or comparable qualification • Sound knowledge at EFZ level in at least one of the disciplines electrical, measurement, control, or drive technology • Practical experience in maintenance, installations, apparatus construction, or the setup of technical plants • Interest in sensor technology, digitalization, experimental technology, and prototype construction • Practically oriented, independent, and solution-oriented personality with joy in new topics and fields of work • Team-oriented and communicative personality with the ability to work with different stakeholder groups • Readiness for practical, partly physical work in laboratories and test halls as well as for occasional assignments at project partners Your benefits with us Questions about the application process Sandra Isenring HR Business Partnerin sandra.isenring@ost.ch About the OST The OST - Ostschweizer Fachhochschule is an intercantonal and interstate university of applied sciences with locations in Buchs, Rapperswil-Jona, and St.Gallen.
