Co-shaping

You support your residential group team in the socio-pedagogical everyday design for six to eight male and female children and adolescents between the ages of seven and sixteen.

Always there

You accompany our children and adolescents in their personal development and socialization process, also on Sundays and public holidays or at night.

Future-oriented

The internship is suitable as a pre-internship for training towards social pedagogy and also as practical training (1st or 2nd) during studies. You will be guided by experienced professionals.

Profile

Experience

Ideally, you have already gained initial experience in dealing with children and adolescents. Your IT skills will also be put to use with us.

Personality

You are at least 23 years old, a stable personality with a sporty and creative streak as well as a healthy dose of humor.

Education

You have completed FMS, Matura, or an apprenticeship.

Language

You have proficient German in spoken and written form and understand Swiss German.

Insight into our work

The Youth, Family and Sport department of the Erziehungsdepartement Basel-Stadt manages a large area of topics surrounding childcare, child and youth welfare, early childhood development and sport. It informs and supports children, adolescents and those involved in education and advocates for high-quality, state and private services. The promotion of mass sports and movement, in clubs and privately, is also among the central tasks. This work directly benefits many people in Basel: from children to parents to sports enthusiasts.

The Schulheim Gute Herberge in Riehen is an institution of the Erziehungsdepartement of the Canton Basel-Stadt. Within the framework of flexible residential and school settings, we accompany, teach and promote children and adolescents with special educational and developmental needs. Others envy our location: close to the city, but surrounded by greenery in a spacious facility, easily accessible with a tram stop in front of the door.
