80--100 % starting 1 February 2027 or by arrangement What awaits you: <br /> • You lead the research area strategically and operationally and bear responsibility for the technical and personnel leadership of your team. • You develop a forward-looking research and publication strategy and effective research management in close cooperation with universities and many other network partners. • Together with the department management, you contribute to the development and establishment of Archäologie Baselland as a competence center and research hub. • You lead and accompany research projects on findings and finds of all epochs in the entire cantonal territory as well as in the perimeter of the Roman city Augusta Raurica. • You develop, implement, and ensure scientific standards within Archäologie Baselland. • You actively support and promote young scientific talent, for example through the supervision of final theses and the supervision of internships. • You coordinate and personally participate in the communication of our research results through specialist lectures, scientific publications, or preparation for publication via our communication channels. • You actively support the ongoing change process in the Archäologie Baselland department and contribute your professional research perspective to the further development of the organization and of processes and structures. <br /> What you bring with you: <br /> • You have a completed doctorate in archaeology with proven research activity and a solid publication portfolio (incl. peer-reviewed articles). • You have already demonstrated your pronounced competence in the evaluation of findings and finds as well as the secure application of digital tools, especially GIS and databases, in your previous tasks. • You bring leadership experience in leading teams and projects, including budget and resource responsibility, as well as pronounced change competence. • You have experience in the supervision and promotion of young scientific talent. • You have experience in communicating research results both to a scientific specialist audience and to a broad public. • You have the ability to prepare current research content for specialists in museum pedagogy, and a strong willingness to support the public operations of Römerstadt Augusta Raurica in the effective communication of archaeological topics to a broad population. • You are familiar with the Swiss archaeological research landscape as well as the local archaeological and historical sources. • You possess the ability to actively and systematically expand and maintain cooperations and network relationships with external partners and institutions. <br /> For questions regarding the position Jakob Baerlocher Leiter Archäologie Baselland 061 552 22 30 For questions regarding the application process Stephan Imhof HR-Berater 061 552 50 90 Amt für Kultur The <<Archäologie Baselland>> is a newly formed department of the Amt für Kultur of the Canton Basel-Landschaft. As a cantonal specialist office, it is responsible for the protection and research of archaeological sites, zones, and movable objects in the cantonal territory. The department is being created as part of the organizational development of the Amt für Kultur: the archaeological specialist areas and collections of the previous main departments <<Archäologie und Museum Baselland>> as well as <<Augusta Raurica>> are being organizationally merged within it.
