The Bathing and Ice Facilities department is responsible for the operation of around 21 indoor and outdoor pools as well as two ice facilities with over 2 million guests per year, with around 350 employees.

For the Infrastructure, Technology and Safety department, we are looking for a committed and independent

Infrastructure Specialist, 80-100 %

starting 1 January 2027 or by arrangement.

Tasks

• You will further develop the bathing and ice facilities and initiate and accompany structural measures from renovation to new construction.
• In studies, competitions and construction projects, you will represent the user needs of the Sportamt and the urban planning specifications and take over the operational project management.
• You will develop fundamentals such as operating concepts, space programs and project specifications and write reports and expert opinions.
• You will monitor the structural and technical condition as well as the attractiveness of the facilities and propose optimization measures if necessary.
• You will advise the division and department management strategically, participate in political matters and initiatives and represent the Sportamt in municipal and supra-municipal committees.

Profile

• Education at Master's level FH or Uni/ETH and a specific additional qualification, for example CAS Sportanlagenbau
• Very good experience in project and construction project management and leadership competence in matrix and project organizations
• Very good knowledge of the processes and procedures in the city administration, professional knowledge in the field of building technology in the bathing and ice facilities industry
• High communication skills, negotiation skills, very good written expression and a friendly manner with various stakeholder groups
• Initiative, structured and solution-oriented way of working, entrepreneurial and networked thinking as well as high resilience and flexibility

About us

The Sportamt is a service department of the Schul- und Sportdepartement of the Stadt Zürich. It is the competence center for sports promotion and provides sports facilities as well as indoor and outdoor pools to the athletically active population and clubs. The organization of compulsory swimming lessons as well as voluntary school sports are also part of the core tasks of the Sportamt. With targeted information, the Sportamt motivates people to move more and advises and supports sports organizations.
