Become a member. ## The Universitäre Psychiatrische Kliniken (UPK) of Basel are one of the leading psychiatric clinics in Switzerland. Our goal is the constant improvement of the treatment of our patients in order to achieve their best possible quality of life. The UPK treat people of all ages, from children to elderly patients. There are inpatient, semi-inpatient, and outpatient offers. More than 1200 specialists from 42 nations work at the UPK of Basel. Various training offers expand your horizons.   At the UPK, you can follow the training as a community health and care assistant in 3 years normally or in 2 shortened years for health and social care assistants. We support FaGe training with or without professional maturity accompanying the apprenticeship. Apprenticeship as a community health and care assistant (FaGe) CFC 100% # Your tasks ## • During the training, you learn in three different departments • You acquire experience during an internship outside of the UPK, for example at Spitex or in a retirement home • In the profession of FaGe, you learn to support people who are mentally and/or physically ill. You assume tasks in care and support as well as in medical technology • You take on tasks in the areas of daily organization, household management, administration, and logistics. Conditions ## • Completion of compulsory schooling (levels A, E and P possible) • You like contact with different people very much • You wish to acquire a lot of knowledge about human beings and their health • You are responsible and ready to reflect on your behavior • You face difficult situations with openness What we offer you ## • You are accompanied throughout the training by professional trainers • You benefit from five weeks of vacation and three additional days off per year. The UPK pays for your learning materials • The UPK Basel campus is located in a beautiful old park and is accessible by tram and bus from the CFF station and the city center in only 10 minutes • After the basic FaGe training at secondary level II, you have access to other training at the tertiary level.
