Your contribution

• Direct the enterprise architecture sector transversally across the five federal offices of the Swiss Army in the various architectural fields (military ICT, civil ICT, armament and digital transformation) on a specialist, financial, and personnel level
• Assume responsibility for the specialist conduct of enterprise architecture for the entire Defense Group and at the same time involve partners; manage domain and business sector architectures transversally
• Within the scope of your responsibilities, shape governance, processes, and architecture products as well as draft bases and directives for projects
• Develop architectural criteria and action directives suitable to the strategy and business requirements and make them available to the competent management bodies
• Manage internal, external, and international stakeholders (e.g., industrial partners) of the Defense architecture and communicate architecture content for the benefit of Federated Mission Networking

What distinguishes you

• University degree or from a university of applied sciences with specialization in computer science and business administration, good knowledge of the field of (enterprise) architecture and analysis, as well as excellent knowledge of military structures and processes
• Proven several years of leadership experience in enterprise architecture and related methods in large organizations
• Ability to present complex issues clearly, structurally, and according to the audience and to combine different interests
• Excellent methodological skills (e.g., TOGAF, HERMES, certifications in the field of project or program management such as IPMA/MAS) as well as advanced training and experience in business analysis
• Good active knowledge of at least one second official language and passive knowledge of a third official language as well as excellent knowledge of English (C1)

The Army Staff (SM Es) provides support to the Chief of the Army in the conduct of the Defense Group and is responsible for the global military planning of the army and its subsequent development. Based on political directives, it develops strategic bases, the development of the armed forces, as well as the planning of the armed forces and armament, and assumes tasks in the context of international security. The conduct, management, and coordination of all transversal sectors (Personnel, Finance, Real Estate) also fall within its sphere of competence.

The Swiss Army employs over 9000 employees within the framework of four military professions and about 200 civil professions, in 110 locations throughout the national territory. It also provides for new recruits, training apprentices in over 30 professions.
