HSE Manager (m/f/d)

Purpose of the role As Lead HSE, you are responsible for ensuring a high level of safety at the site. You ensure compliance with legal and internal company HSE requirements and develop improvement and corrective measures in the areas of process and plant safety, occupational safety, environmental protection, construction site safety, fire protection, and explosion protection. In addition to the HSE coordination team and the HSE specialists, you are the direct contact person for the plant regarding operational HSE topics. Tasks Overall responsibility for all HSE activities at a chemical production site Maintenance and further development of the site-specific HSE management system Ensuring regulatory and internal company HSE compliance, particularly according to Swiss EHS legislation, SUVA requirements, cantonal authorities, and the Seveso/Major Accidents Ordinance Annual environmental reporting to cantonal and federal authorities KPI management and EHS reporting to the site management and the group organization Risk management across all disciplines, particularly process safety, explosion protection, occupational safety, occupational hygiene, fire protection, and construction site safety Maintenance and further development of the training and competence management system Responsibility for risk management in business continuity planning Leadership, coaching, and further development of a team of safety and training specialists Responsibility for the site's emergency organization, including incident command Interface to authorities, insurance companies, and external auditors Participation in the site management team Completed studies in chemistry, chemical engineering, process engineering, or a comparable field of study Completed training as a specialist for occupational safety and health protection or an equivalent qualification At least five years of professional experience in chemical production, technical support, or production operations Experience in leading risk analyses in chemical production Sound knowledge of HSE processes and standards in production Experience with safety and environmental regulations as well as in dealing with authorities Ability to lead and exert influence with direct and indirect line responsibility Precise way of working as well as entrepreneurial thinking and acting Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken What we offer We offer a variety of financial and non-financial benefits, including: We offer a position that contributes to valuable and impactful work in an inspiring and international environment An excellent working environment with an open culture and a diverse workforce, where new ideas are always welcome The opportunity to work with and learn from highly qualified and experienced employees and to achieve scientific and technical excellence A learning culture (Together we Grow) and a wide range of training opportunities You benefit from a competitive pension fund plan, flexible working arrangements, an attractive bonus system, a company doctor, a fitness room, a canteen, and other benefits (family-friendly initiatives, child and family allowances…) Please send your complete application with CV, diploma, and work certificates (if available).
