Head of Operations and Maintenance (80 - 100 %)

The Operations and Maintenance division in the Tiefbauamt is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance as well as the care and cleanliness of public road spaces, path networks, green spaces, cemeteries and sewage systems. The installation of temporary or permanent signage and markings in public spaces is also part of its tasks. Great importance is placed on functionality and safety.

We are looking for as of 1 February 2027 or by arrangement a

Head of Operations and Maintenance (80 - 100 %)

Your tasks:

• You lead 6 teams (construction, sewage and watercourse maintenance, cemetery maintenance, green space maintenance, sports facility maintenance, road cleaning, traffic technology) with 60 specialists. Together you ensure solution-oriented, stable results, new impulses as well as cross-departmental cooperation.
• Our teams organize themselves independently and bear responsibility for quality. You set the direction, deploy resources in a targeted manner and ensure short paths, even across departmental boundaries.
• As a member of the management team, you develop maintenance strategically, with the goal of making it innovative, efficient and sustainable.
• You guarantee the smooth handling of day-to-day business, demand performance constructively and allow new things to emerge in a future-oriented manner. To this end, you take on the function of the area security officer (BESIBE) in an additional role.
• You represent the Tiefbauamt both in personal and written communication with customers as well as political actors.

You bring with you:

• You lead with human insight and clear goals. You listen, are fair and reliable, recognize freedom and use it.
• Training as a construction manager or technician HF or comparable training, ideally with roots in horticulture or the construction industry.
• Diverse experience in the operation and maintenance of green spaces, roads or wastewater systems. Business administration and modern corporate management are not just theory to you.
