Senior Physician / Consultant (w/m/d) for Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine 80-100%

The clinical service spectrum of the Institut für Anästhesiologie und Perioperative Medizin (IFA) includes all anesthesia procedures for outpatient and inpatient operative as well as diagnostic interventions, including comprehensive pre- and postoperative care. Further central areas of responsibility are the treatment of acute and chronic pain, the trauma room care of critically ill patients, and the in-hospital resuscitation service. Furthermore, the institute provides emergency physicians for preclinical ground- and air-based emergency care as well as the intensive care transfer service in close cooperation with Schutz & Rettung Zürich (SRZ) and the Schweizerische Rettungsflugwacht (REGA). Within the framework of highly specialized medicine, the USZ additionally holds service mandates for all transplantations and for the treatment of severely burned and multiple-trauma patients. The institute is a training facility of category A1 certified by the Schweizerische Institut für ärztliche Weiter- und Fortbildung (SIWF). Our over 8'600 employees and around 700 trainees commit themselves daily to the well-being of our patients. ### Your main tasks • Independent anesthesiological care of patients of all specialties in operative, interventional, and diagnostic areas of basic care, maximum care, and highly specialized medicine, including the care of complex cardio- and vascular surgical as well as transplantation medicine interventions • Participation in shift and on-call service • Assumption of leadership, organizational, and coordination tasks • Engagement in the continuous further development of the institute, in particular active co-design and further development of medical training, patient care, quality assurance, research, and teaching, including the design and implementation of new teaching and training formats • Instruction, supervision, training, and mentoring of resident and senior physicians • Assumption of regulatory leadership responsibility in the field of translational research Your profile • Specialist title in anesthesiology (FMH or equivalent) • Many years of professional and leadership experience in a university environment with universal operative applicability and flexibility • Profound experience in cardiothoracic, vascular surgical, and transplantation medicine anesthesiology • Habilitation or habilitation-equivalent achievement as well as proven experience in experimental and translational research, didactic skills • Commitment and enthusiasm for the training and promotion of resident physicians as well as the further development of medical training and university teaching • Enjoyment of interprofessional and interdisciplinary cooperation - especially in complex patient care • Strong leadership and social competence as well as a high sense of responsibility • High resilience, initiative, and a solution-oriented way of working • Enjoyment of the active co-design of change processes • With your empathetic, integrative personality, you specifically promote team spirit, interprofessional cooperation, and strengthen the trust of the patients Our benefits About the USZ The Universitätsspital Zürich is one of the largest hospitals in Switzerland.
