Senior System Engineer Azure Core Engineering / IaaS 80–100 % (m/f/d) Your new challenge For our client, an established company in the field of modern IT and cloud infrastructures, we are looking for an experienced personality as Senior System Engineer Azure Core Engineering / IaaS. In this demanding position, you are responsible for the conception, construction, further development, and stable operation of modern Microsoft Azure infrastructures. You develop secure, scalable, and sustainably operable platforms and accompany demanding customers in the transformation from classic on-premises environments to hybrid or fully cloud-based solutions. In doing so, you not only operate existing systems but also develop technical standards, automations, and future-proof architecture concepts for different customer environments. Your tasks Conception, construction, and operation of Microsoft Azure infrastructures Planning and implementation of Azure IaaS solutions Construction and further development of Azure Landing Zones Management of Azure Subscriptions, Resource Groups, and Management Groups Development and implementation of governance, security, tagging, and naming standards Construction and operation of Azure Virtual Machines under Windows and Linux Planning and optimization of compute, storage, and network resources Conception of highly available and fail-safe Azure architectures Planning and implementation of hybrid infrastructures between on-premises systems and Microsoft Azure Construction and operation of Site-to-Site VPN, Point-to-Site VPN, and ExpressRoute connections Configuration of Virtual Networks, Subnets, VNet Peerings, and Routing Management of Network Security Groups, Azure Firewall, and Private Endpoints Conception and operation of hub-and-spoke network architectures Integration and further development of Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID Implementation of hybrid identity and access management solutions Configuration of roles, permissions, Conditional Access, and multi-factor authentication Implementation of least-privilege and privileged access concepts Management and securing of privileged administration access Planning and implementation of patch, update, and lifecycle strategies Operation of Azure Update Manager, SCCM, or comparable management solutions Construction of monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions Configuration of Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Diagnostic Settings Analysis of system, network, and performance problems Conducting root-cause analyses for complex malfunctions Planning and implementation of backup and disaster recovery concepts Operation of Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery Definition and implementation of RPO and RTO requirements Automation of infrastructure and recurring operational tasks Creation and maintenance of Infrastructure-as-Code solutions Development of automations with Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, or Ansible Integration of deployments into Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions Creation of standardized templates, modules, runbooks, and operating models Technical support of migrations to the Microsoft Azure Cloud Advising customers on architecture, security, and operational questions Creation and maintenance of technical documentation Support of engineering, operations, and support teams Taking technical responsibility during critical incidents Continuous optimization of cloud services and operational processes Your profile Several years of professional experience as a System Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or in a comparable function Sound practical experience with Microsoft Azure Very good knowledge in the area of Azure Infrastructure as a Service Experience with Azure Virtual Machines, Managed Disks, and Azure Storage Very good knowledge in the area of Azure Networking Experience with Virtual Networks, Subnets, Peering, Routing, and Network Security Groups Knowledge of Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, or Private Endpoints Good knowledge of Windows Server Experience with Linux servers is an advantage Very good knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID Experience with hybrid identity and infrastructure environments Knowledge of Conditional Access, MFA, Azure RBAC, and Privileged Identity Management Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and modern monitoring concepts Knowledge of Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery Experience with patch, update, and lifecycle management Good knowledge of PowerShell Experience with Terraform or Bicep Knowledge of Ansible, Azure CLI, or
