As an independent company under public law, Gebäudeversicherung des Kantons Schaffhausen insures buildings located in the Canton of Schaffhausen and offers comprehensive coverage for fire and natural hazards. It provides information on insurance sums to owners and official bodies, advises property owners on prevention issues, and is responsible for premium collection and recovery as well as the management of investment assets. Furthermore, the Kantale Feuerpolizei is affiliated with the Gebäudeversicherung, meaning its tasks also fall within the area of responsibility of the Gebäudeversicherung.

What awaits you

• Overall responsibility for the operational, personnel, and strategic leadership of Gebäudeversicherung Schaffhausen (GVSH) as well as the Kantale Feuerpolizei
• Responsibility for strategy, financial planning, budgeting, as well as business and accountability reports
• Leadership and development of employees as well as promotion of a goal-oriented and service-oriented corporate culture
• Management and support of projects in the areas of legislation, digitalization, organizational development, and risk management
• Advising and supporting the Verwaltungskommission as well as cooperation with cantonal bodies, municipalities, specialist organizations, and external partners
• Further development of the organization, processes, and services, taking into account legal, technological, and societal developments
• Representation of the GVSH and the Kantale Feuerpolizei towards authorities, specialist committees, and the public
• Responsibility for selected claims cases as well as participation in legal remedy proceedings

What you bring with you

• Higher business administration education;
• Additional legal training is an advantage
• Several years of leadership experience in a comparable environment, preferably in the public law or insurance-related sector
• Sound knowledge of insurance and liability law, as well as ideally public law
• Experience in organizational development, project management, and strategic corporate management
• Strong analytical and networked thinking skills as well as a structured and solution-oriented way of working
• High communication and social competence as well as stylistic proficiency in written and spoken expression
• Intuition for political processes and different stakeholder groups
• Interest in issues surrounding insurance, construction, security, and risk management
• Confident appearance, negotiation skills, and enjoyment of a responsible leadership task
