What you can achieve: As an RnD Chemist / Production Chemist, you are responsible in our multidisciplinary RnD Science Team, consisting of physicists and chemists, for the development of electrochemical and optical sensors as well as for the transfer and manufacture of sensory materials into production.   Tasks as a Production Chemist (main activities): • Reproduction of fluorophores on a production scale, their transfer into a ready-to-use polymer matrix as well as their processing for the manufacture of sensitive layers, partly in a cleanroom • Implementation of in-process and quality controls using appropriate analytical methods • Implementation of scale-ups and process optimizations • Documentation of the manufacturing process • Process control and ensuring readiness for delivery • Collaboration with our production department as well as their support with process questions   Tasks as an RnD Chemist (additional activities): • Collaboration in various development projects • Development and evaluation of experimental analytical data • Creation of functional models and prototypes • Collaboration with internal and external knowledge carriers and know-how transfer in interdisciplinary projects • Contribution of ideas for new products, technologies and research for potential external partners • Management of technology projects What you bring with you: • Completed studies in chemistry/polymer chemistry or several years of professional experience as a chemical laboratory technician in synthesis chemistry • Good theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the transfer from laboratory to production scale (scale-up) • Ideally experience in the field of chemical sensor development • Hands-on mentality: dexterity and creativity in experimental work and experience in the planning, setup and execution of experiments • Initiative, independent, structured and result-oriented way of working • Good presentation and communication of technical facts • Communicative, team-oriented and reliable personality • Solid German and English skills in spoken and written form Learn more about professional opportunities at Hamilton at jobs.hamilton.ch.
