Zurich-Aéroport, Suisse \| 90-90% What you can contribute to <br /> • Ensure operational service (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) according to the duty roster at the meteorological center • Assume responsibility for meteorological monitoring, issuing alerts, developing products and providing meteorological advice to specific users according to the work plan or as instructed • Ensure communication with clients and partner organizations, and advise them • Write articles, blogs and social media contributions and conduct video conference, phone or on-site briefings • Assume the role of service provider after basic internal training • Assume additional tasks by agreement (e.g. in the context of projects or committees) <br /> What makes you unique <br /> • University degree (master) with in-depth specialized knowledge in meteorology; meet the BIP-M requirements (for more details, see the required skills on the MétéoSuisse website, Basic Instruction Package for Meteorologists according to WMO manual No. 1083) • Enjoy working in a team; willingness and physical ability to work according to variable schedules (including early morning, late evening, night, weekend and holiday shifts) • Mental agility and stress resistance (ability to make quick and informed decisions in dynamic situations); high integrity, reliability and impeccable reputation • Excellent written and spoken German and good active knowledge of a second official language (preferably French) as well as passive knowledge of the third official language; good communication and writing skills in English are also required (WMO aviation requirements) • Excellent skills and interest in communication activities for different target groups on various channels (media, blogs, social networks, briefings) • Additional qualifications appreciated: link to aviation, good knowledge of climate and climate change, experience or interest in project management, journalistic experience or affinity with social media <br /> In a few words As a meteorologist (m/f) working in shifts (24 hours a day, 7 days a week), you are responsible for the analysis, creation and timely communication of high-quality forecasts and alerts for aviation, the military, authorities and the general public.
