Your contribution

• Perform technical analyses and calculations to determine the hazard potential of accumulation facilities and their respective subjection to federal legislation
• Contribute to the development of methods and tools for the analysis of facilities
• Apply and further develop calculation models in Excel and possibly QGIS
• Provide support in drafting decisions on the subjection of selected facilities to the federal law on accumulation facilities (LImA)
• Support the Accumulation facilities Supervision Section in the performance of its tasks

What distinguishes you

• Bachelor (possibly ongoing) at a university of applied sciences or a university in a technical field (e.g., civil engineering, environment, hydraulics) or in natural sciences
• Interest in issues related to facility safety and natural hazards
• Good knowledge of Excel (data analysis, formulas, possibly VBA) and basic knowledge of QGIS (for processing DTM data and Python)
• Motivation to learn to use new tools (geometric analysis, geodata)
• Ability to think analytically and to work in a precise and autonomous manner
• Good active knowledge of at least one second official language and, if possible, passive knowledge of a third official language

In summary

You will participate in a concrete engineering project aimed at verifying whether certain protection works present sufficient hazard potential to be subject to federal legislation. You will thus contribute to the prevention of natural hazards and to the safety of the population.
