Chief Physician or Head Physician with or without specialist title in the Adult Intensive Care Service - 80% to 100%

As part of a reorganization within a context of perpetual improvement of the quality of life at work for professionals and the quality of care for patients, we are strengthening our adult intensive care (resuscitation) medical team.

In this new organization, conducive to a work-life balance, you will ensure the management of the patient population of the adult intensive care (resuscitation) service and actively participate in the training and supervision activities of the service's resident doctors, research activities, as well as the development of intensive medicine.

You possess a federal medical diploma or equivalent recognized by the OFSP (MEBEKO) and the right to practice in the canton of Geneva. A specialist title in intensive medicine is an asset.

For non-French speaking candidates, a certified C1 level is required.

You have a minimum of two or three years of experience in intensive medicine, resuscitation, or anesthesiology.

You are an easy communicator, open-minded, a good listener, and have a capacity for synthesis.

You are a dynamic, flexible, enthusiastic, discreet, and tenacious person.

Counting nearly 1200 employees, the Département de médecine aiguë (https://www.hug.ch/departement-medecine-aigue) (D-MA) includes the services of clinical anesthesiology, pharmacology and toxicology, adult intensive care, and adult emergencies. It responds to a quadruple mission through its services which provide their expertise in frequent interaction with all the Hôpitaux universitaires de Genève, thanks to a transversal platform, with the objective of ensuring the best possible care for patients.

The Intensive Care Service manages adult patients who present or are in immediate danger of developing vital organ failures in the context of a pathology or its complications, whether medical or surgical, and whose life is generally at risk. It also advises and intervenes if necessary during resuscitation situations in other HUG services and participates in urgent hospital interventions.
