In the municipality of Riehen - the large, green village - people enjoy living and working. The residents of Riehen appreciate the valuable green and park areas and intact open spaces. To ensure this remains the case, the Urban Planning, Environment and Agriculture department works daily to maintain high living, open space and settlement quality. The newly created position of Open Space Planner pursues this goal so that high-quality and diversely usable green and open spaces remain available to the population and nature in the future. The position also supports adaptation to global warming and actively helps shape the future of Riehen. We are looking for reinforcement for our Spatial Development and Infrastructure department, in the Urban Planning, Environment and Agriculture area, to join our existing team as of 1.10.2026 or by arrangement. Open Space Planner 70% Key focuses of your activity: Management and coordination of demanding planning and open space projects from conception to implementation. Development and securing of high-quality green and open spaces, taking into account ecological, social and design aspects. Management of complex project processes as well as coordination of internal specialist departments, authorities and external partners. Ensuring compliance with legal, qualitative and design standards as well as specialist advice on open space-related issues. Leadership of projects and working groups as well as deputy for the specialist responsibility for Nature and Environment. Your profile: Completed university degree in the field of landscape architecture, landscape planning, landscape development, spatial planning or a related discipline. Several years of professional experience in the planning and implementation of open space and landscape projects as well as sound knowledge in project management. Experience in cooperation with authorities, specialist agencies and external planning offices. Networked, conceptual and solution-oriented way of thinking as well as interest in current topics of open space, urban and environmental development. Strong communication and negotiation skills as well as a confident appearance towards different stakeholders. Independent, structured way of working and high resilience.
