Job Description ##

In the production plant, you will deal with the manufacture of concrete products. These concrete products are used, among other things, in residential construction, commercial construction, civil engineering, bridge construction, landscaping, stadium construction, tunnel construction, or noise protection. Examples of products are sewage pipes, masonry units, composite and paving stones, paving slabs, stairs, balconies, parapets, elevator shafts, or acoustic panels.

Negative molds are required for the manufacture of precast concrete parts. You will manufacture these molds yourself from wooden panels. In doing so, you will adhere to the client's construction plans. Depending on the product, you will also use prefabricated molds made of steel, plastic, or concrete. Increasingly, fully automatic, computer-controlled systems are being used in concrete works. You will partially operate and maintain these machines.

You pour the concrete mass into the mold and compact it by vibrating, tamping, pressing, and centrifuging. After the concrete has hardened, you strip the workpiece from the mold and clean the formwork material. Depending on the product, you will later refine the surface, e.g., by grinding, polishing, fine washing, or sandblasting. With special workpieces, you will even work with steel inserts to achieve reinforcement.

You use numerous devices and machines for surface treatment as well as the other work steps. These are not only operated professionally by you but also cared for and maintained.
