The Municipality of Montreux is advertising a position for a TENURED ORGANIST AT APPROX. 50 % for the Eglise Catholique du Sacré-Coeur de Montreux within the general administration. Instrument: organs Main missions: • Ensure organ accompaniment for Sunday masses and major liturgical feasts • Accompany funeral celebrations, weddings, baptisms as well as official ceremonies • Support the singing of soloists, choirs and the assembly • Prepare, in collaboration with liturgical leaders, a repertoire adapted to the celebrations • Contribute, through careful musical practice faithful to liturgical tradition, to the quality of celebrations and the contemplation of the assembly Desired profile: • Excellent mastery of the liturgical organ • Musical training of level 1 to 3 according to the recommendations of the Association des organistes romands, or a higher diploma in organ (Bachelor, Master or title deemed equivalent) • Solid knowledge of Catholic liturgy and the repertoire of liturgical chants • Ability to harmonize Gregorian chant • Ability to transpose chants and adapt them to the possibilities of the assembly • Aptitude to ensure harmonious musical coordination with the celebrant during services • Good ability to improvise • Sense of service, listening and human relations, reliability and availability • Aptitude to collaborate with the moderator priest, other celebrants, the Conseil de paroisse, choirs as well as other pastoral actors • Experience in chamber music and in accompanying soloists or ensembles • Openness to different musical styles, within the respect of the liturgical framework Special conditions: • Swiss criminal record extract to be provided upon engagement • Irregular hours during weeks, weekends and public holidays • Approx. 150 services per year Start date: immediately or date to be agreed All additional information can be obtained from Mme Janet Yüping Vogel, Présidente de la Paroisse Catholique Romaine du Sacré-Coeur de Montreux,  : 079 347 52 55.
