Metallurgical Engineer – M/F

Are you a metallurgist and wish to put your expertise to work for concrete, technical, and international industrial projects?

SOLO SWISS SA, a Swiss company founded in 1924 and specializing in the design, manufacture, and commissioning of industrial furnaces for the heat treatment of metals, is looking for a Metallurgist to strengthen its technical team in Porrentruy.

Our equipment is used in demanding sectors such as automotive, aeronautics, watchmaking, and medical, both in Switzerland and on international markets.

Your mission

Within a human-sized company, you will intervene at the heart of our metallurgical and heat treatment expertise.

You will notably be required to:

• provide your expertise in the field of metallurgy and materials;
• analyze the needs and issues of our customers regarding heat treatments;
• participate in the optimization of heat treatment processes;
• perform and monitor trials, tests, and characterizations;
• contribute to the analysis of results and the search for technical solutions;
• provide technical support to our Engineering, Sales, and After-Sales Service teams;
• participate in expertise and technical interventions, in Switzerland and abroad depending on the projects;
• contribute to the development and transmission of SOLO SWISS SA's metallurgical expertise;
• ensure technical monitoring of materials, processes, and heat treatment technologies.

A function with a strong international dimension

This function involves frequent travel abroad, notably to our customers and partners, to perform trials, expertise, commissioning, process validations, or technical interventions.

You must therefore enjoy field work, international contacts, and varied industrial environments, and be comfortable with a professional activity involving regular travel.

Your profile:

Above all, we are looking for a curious, pragmatic person who is passionate about technology, capable of understanding an industrial problem and searching for concrete solutions.

You ideally possess:

• higher education in metallurgy, materials science, materials engineering, or a similar field;
• significant experience in the heat treatment of metals, metallurgy, or a comparable industrial environment;
• good knowledge of metallic materials and their behavior;
• an analytical mind and a strong taste for problem-solving;
• a good ability to work autonomously while collaborating with different departments;
• good communication skills and a developed practical sense.

Significant field experience can also be decisive. We are open to atypical profiles with solid practical experience and real expertise, even if their background does not perfectly match the traditional academic profile.
