With around 2400 employees, the Social Department of the City of Zürich works daily for a social Zürich. And we contribute to a high quality of life in the districts. The emergency accommodation for families is a supervised collective accommodation for families threatened by homelessness. The offer serves to accommodate families in emergency situations. The goal is to stabilize the family situation and promote the acquisition of skills in the areas of life that are important for apartment hunting, so that a transition to the free housing market is possible again. For our team at Langensteinstrasse 65 in 8057 Zürich, we are looking for a motivated personality starting 01.09.2026 or by agreement. Social Worker / Nursing Specialist Emergency Accommodation for Families 80 % Tasks • You take in new families, care for and accompany them in a needs-based and individual manner. • You support families of different cultural and linguistic backgrounds in finding a sustainable housing solution. • You promote a successful coexistence in the emergency accommodation, ensure a smooth operation and intervene in conflicts. • You work with other involved offices and promote cooperation in the support network. • You plan and document the support of the families in the case management system. • You take on co-responsibility for organizational and operational tasks at the locations. Profile • Completed training in Social Work, Social Pedagogy or as a Nursing Specialist HF/FH • Willingness to work shifts until 19:00 and one weekend shift per month (duty rosters are created two months in advance) • High independence as well as the willingness to take care of the location independently; the place of work can change and deployments at other locations are possible • Experience in working with families and/or in the psychosocial field is an advantage • Enjoy working with people and a professional handling of different expectations and life realities • Ability to design sustainable professional relationships and consciously balance proximity and distance We offer You support families in finding their way out of the emergency accommodation into their own housing solution, and thus make an important contribution to their stabilization.
