Tooling Designer / Tooling Engineer Turbines (m/f/d)

Gas turbines, steam turbines and generator rotors leave our plant in Birr because you develop the appropriate tools, fixtures and measuring instruments for them. In doing so, you contribute to ensuring that people worldwide are supplied with electricity reliably.

You work in the Tooling Design (BMK) team and accompany every piece of equipment from the first idea to its use in production. In doing so, you coordinate closely with production, engineering and suppliers. You help shape manufacturing concepts, contribute your own ideas and improve existing solutions.

Your tasks

• You are responsible for the design and construction of special tools, measuring instruments and fixtures.
• You ensure that all equipment is available on time, from in-house manufacturing or from external partners.
• You define and improve tool, measurement and manufacturing concepts together with production and engineering.
• You develop machining strategies, calculate cutting data and maintain tool lists and master data in TDM (Tool Data Management, Werkzeugdatenverwaltung).
• You coordinate procurement: offers, cost comparisons and checking technical drawings.
• You monitor process performance, tool consumption and costs and initiate improvements.

Required

• Technical training in mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology or industrial engineering, for example Höhere Fachschule (HF) or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the design of production tools, fixtures and manufacturing equipment
• Knowledge of machining, tool concepts and measurement strategies
• User knowledge in SAP (enterprise resource planning software) and TDM or a comparable system
• Fluent German and good English, oral and written

Advantageous

• Experience with tools or fixtures for turbines, compressors or other large rotating machines
• Experience in coordination with technical suppliers
