Department Head in Development at the Bahnsteuerung

What you can move. • Together with your team leaders, you lead a department of approx. 45 engineers, physicists, and other specialists and bear technical as well as personnel responsibility. • Together with the stakeholders, you define and are responsible for strategic initiatives for the further development of the Bahnsteuerung systems, digitalization, and innovation (e.g., digital testing processes, automation, data analysis). • You ensure compliance with technical standards (including CENELEC), safety requirements, and quality standards, while also monitoring compliance with financial guidelines. • As a member of the Bahnsteuerung leadership team, you actively participate in its further development, both on the human and technological sides. You maintain and develop the network to industrial partners, suppliers, as well as national and European project partners and represent the Bahnsteuerung in relevant committees. What you bring with you. • With courage and determination, you drive large transformation projects forward - while always keeping the human aspects of change in view. • In your career, you have already gained leadership experience in managing interdisciplinary teams. • Professionally, you already have experience in portfolio, budget, and risk management. With sensitivity and diplomacy, you succeed in balancing complex topics between customer needs, economic efficiency, and safety. • You can demonstrate sound knowledge of industrial development processes (V model, standards such as CENELEC) as well as in the railway environment. • For this function, we require a technical degree (ETH/university/FH or equivalent), ideally supplemented by further training in business management or management. • Your German skills are business fluent (at least level C1) and you have good knowledge of a second national language (at least level B2).
