JOB DESCRIPTION
As a development engineer, you will be given the ownership of about 2-3 epics/feature developments per year, which you will have to lead from the initial definition of the technical solution to the commercial promotion of the implemented result. For that, you will collaborate with the epic / feature director, who will provide you with application level requirements and guidance. During your work, you will actively collaborate with other software development engineers, firmware engineers, and power electronics engineers. Sometimes, you will also actively exchange with customers, typically during larger projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN DUTIES
Work as a project owner for 2-3 features/ epics per year. Doing that, you will be asked to:
• Collaborate with the director to identify the technical solution (software architecture, implementation approach, user interface, etc.).
• Schedule your own activities (and those of your colleague if they are involved). • Execute the software development and testing.
• Produce both internal and user-oriented documentation.
• Contribute to the promotion of the result (usage examples, marketing material, etc.).
• Punctually interact with customers to collect feedback or during projects.
• Provide assistance to customers, primarily about the functions you developed yourself.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Hard requirements
• BSc or MSc diploma in computer science or electrical engineering
• Demonstrable prior experience in C++
• Fluency in English (oral and written)
Desired additional skills
• Prior experience with Qt
• Prior experience as part of a development team in a professional context
• Some familiarity with power electronics
• Basic knowledge of French
THIS POSITION WILL SUIT YOU IF
• You appreciate a young and friendly environment that is also rigorous and demanding.
• You are interested in a role that isn't just about coding, but rather focused on leading projects from start to finish, with some project management responsibilities.
• You are capable of putting yourself in the shoes of a typical customer, i.e. an industrial or academic researcher in power electronics. You are interested in bringing such a perspective to about everything you do.
• You are self-motivated and capable of working both individually and as part of a team.
