Then help us shape the shopping experience of tomorrow! ## To reinforce our team in the Hosiery & Men's Underwear area, we are looking for a motivated and committed Buyer (m/f/d), 80%, starting 01.11.2026, temporary until 30.04.2027, at the location Basel Headquarters. ## Your Responsibility • You contribute to the development and further development of the category strategy, which is aligned with the company's three-year financial goals. • You are responsible for assortment planning and selection before the season. • Together with the Merchandise Planner, you define the top-down and bottom-up category goals, margin goals, OTB, as well as the assortment architecture. • You conduct competitive analyses, market research, and evaluations of consumer insights. • You identify, select, and negotiate with brands and suppliers to secure competitive prices, minimum order quantities, conditions, and exclusivities. • You build strong supplier relationships through performance evaluations and joint business planning. • You ensure the accuracy of product data, sample management, and compliance with regulations and quality standards. • You work with suppliers on marketing cooperations and the introduction of new products. • You ensure that SKU productivity, category segmentation, and the number of variants are optimized. • You manage lifecycle planning, including product introductions, product continuations, and measures for product phase-outs. • You set the retail prices and framework conditions for promotions in accordance with the margin goals. • You work with the planning department on discount strategies, reorders, and phase-out plans. Your Profile • You have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Merchandising, or a comparable course of study. • You have 3 to 5 years of professional experience in purchasing, ideally in multi-brand retail or a department store environment. • You have a strong understanding of business administration as well as experience in negotiating with suppliers. • You have a proven ability to develop and communicate a clear vision, inspire teams, and drive their successful implementation. • You have sound knowledge of the Swiss retail market. • You are enthusiastic about Hosiery & Men's Underwear and have a sense for products, silhouettes, materials, and styling that contributes to a convincing and coherent assortment. • You have very good German and English skills; French skills are an advantage.
