Would you like to provide a child or adolescent in a highly stressful life situation with a safe place - and in doing so, help shape a new life and working model in child and youth welfare?

On behalf of the Canton of Luzern, Fachstelle Kinderbetreuung Luzern and Subito Kriseninterventionen are developing a new trauma-pedagogical, family-oriented intensive care offering. Social pedagogical specialists are sought who are willing to accompany a child or adolescent long-term in their own home and be employed for this at a 100% workload.

What the offering is about

At the center is a proven idea from neighboring countries: A social pedagogical specialist provides a personal, family-like living location and is accompanied by a professional as well as personal support network.

The offering is aimed at children, adolescents, and young adults with stressful attachment and relationship experiences as well as challenging behaviors, for whom conventional residential offerings or offerings in foster care are not sustainable.

The goal is a safe place: protection, retreat possibilities, reliable and sustainable relationships, participation, trauma-sensitive accompaniment, and the development of new action routines.

Your task

You offer a child or an adolescent a family home and accompany them reliably on their developmental path. You shape everyday life, relationship, structure, and developmental spaces so that safety, trust, and self-efficacy can grow.

You are not alone: specialist advice, supervision, relief, personal support persons, and collaboration with schools, therapies, authorities, origin systems, and other specialist centers are a binding part of the model.

Your main tasks in concrete terms

• Construction and design of a safe, reliable, and development-promoting living location.
• Trauma-pedagogical attitude in everyday life with a special focus on relationship design, protection, regulation, and participation.
• Design of daily structure, leisure, rituals, and individual developmental goals.
• Building a sustainable relationship of trust and enabling new relationship experiences.
• Collaboration with parents and the wider origin system, legal guardians, schools, therapies, child and adolescent psychiatry, as well as other involved agencies.
• Participation in the design of parent-child contacts.
• Participation in assessments, reports, assistance planning, evaluation, and follow-up solutions.
• Participation in supervision, specialist advice, further training, and exchange forums.
• Active cooperation with your personal support network and professional relief settings.
• Participation in the development of the new concept in cooperation with the project management, the two cooperation partners, and other specialists.

We are looking for people who are willing to consciously open their living and life situation for a child, sibling children, or an adolescent. Your personal environment is also part of your support. Together with other caregivers and you, we are building up the new offering and developing the concept.

It is important that you are willing to shape a reliable relationship with the admitted child, the admitted sibling children, or the admitted adolescent in a binding and attentive manner over long periods of time and to maintain an appreciative and supportive interaction with the parents of the children/adolescents.

What you bring with you

• Training in Social Pedagogy HF/FH, Social Work FH, Special Education, Psychology, or a comparable qualification.
• Experience in accompanying children and adolescents with complex burdens, ideally in a residential context, in crisis intervention, foster care, or trauma-pedagogical settings.
• Knowledge in trauma pedagogy, attachment theory, trauma-sensitive relationship design, and reflection of closeness and distance.
• Willingness to take in a child or an adolescent long-term and in a binding manner within your own life context.
• High self-reflection, resilience, humor, patience, and the ability to remain capable of action even in tense situations.
• Great openness to collaboration with origin systems, authorities, and interdisciplinary specialists.
• A personal environment that supports the task or is willing to contribute to the preparation.
• Joy in pioneering work to help shape the establishment of a new offering.
