As the Head of Department for Social Services Asylum, you will assume overall responsibility for a central organizational unit of the Cantonal Social Office. In a politically and socially demanding environment, you will ensure legally compliant, economical, and impact-oriented service delivery and actively participate in shaping the further development of the asylum and refugee sector in the Canton Zug.

Your tasks

• Overall responsibility for the strategic, personnel, technical, financial, and organizational leadership of the Social Services Asylum
• Ensuring legally compliant, technically sound, economical, and impact-oriented service delivery in the asylum and refugee sector
• Responsibility for the implementation of legal requirements as well as the technical further development of the offers and services of the SDA
• Observation and assessment of developments in the areas of asylum, migration, integration, and social policy, as well as the derivation of suitable measures
• Preparation of decision-making bases or reports for the office management, political authorities, and other decision-makers
• Maintenance and further development of cooperation with municipalities, cantonal and federal authorities, as well as other partner organizations
• Representation of the SDA towards political and technical stakeholders as well as participation in relevant specialist committees
• Leadership and further development of the management team as well as promotion of a high-performance and learning organization
• Responsibility for resource planning, budgeting, as well as the management of the organizational and financial framework conditions
• Initiation and accompaniment of organizational and change processes

Your profile

• University or university of applied sciences degree (Master) in social sciences, law, public management, administrative sciences, or a comparable field of study
• Several years of leadership experience in a technically and organizationally demanding environment
• Sound knowledge of social policy, legal, or societal issues as well as understanding of migration and integration policy topics
• Experience in the public sector, social services, migration sector, or in a comparable organization with a public mandate
• Pronounced political intuition as well as experience in dealing with authorities, political bodies, and different stakeholders
• Strategically thinking, communicative, and implementation-strong leadership personality with high social competence
• High resilience, decisiveness, and experience in organizational development and change processes
• Very good German skills; further language skills are an advantage
