Senior Data & AI Engineer (5 to 8 years) Do you want to build robust data solutions, explore concrete AI use cases, and help our clients transform their ideas into operational results? At Synchrotech, we support SMEs, administrations, and large accounts in French-speaking Switzerland in their data modernization, Business Intelligence, and AI innovation projects. We are looking for a hands-on, curious, and pragmatic person, capable of designing, developing, and implementing solutions with high business value. Your mission: Lead and execute Data Engineering projects, from data extraction to restitution, to improve decision-making and operational efficiency. Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines adapted to analytics, machine learning, or GenAI needs. Model data according to business and technical needs: star, snowflake, and Data Vault models in medallion-type architectures. Develop analyses, dashboards, and clear indicators, notably with Power BI. Prototype then industrialize AI use cases: predictive models, business assistants, RAG, LLM integration, process automation, or specialized agents. Implement best practices for quality, governance, security, documentation, testing, versioning, and CI/CD. Work on several projects in parallel, with autonomy, a sense of priority, and close collaboration with internal teams and clients. Facilitate workshops, challenge needs, translate business challenges into concrete solutions, and support users in adoption. Contribute to the development of Synchrotech's Data & AI offers, standards, accelerators, and best practices. Profile sought: Proven experience, ideally 5 to 8 years, in Data Engineering, Data Platform, Analytics Engineering, or a similar role. Very good mastery of SQL, Python, and concepts of data integration, transformation, orchestration, and optimization. Experience with tools such as Azure Data Factory, SQL Server/Azure SQL, Data Lake, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, or equivalent technologies. Solid foundations in data architecture, modeling, data quality, governance, security, and performance. Experience in data visualization, ideally with Power BI, and the ability to design understandable and business-oriented analyses. Good knowledge of data science or machine learning: data preparation, feature engineering, model training or evaluation, understanding the limits and biases of the approaches used. Experience or strong interest in LLM architectures, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration, and AI API integration. Ability to prototype quickly, test hypotheses, measure the quality of results, and then structure a maintainable and industrializable solution. Comfortable with a code-first approach, AI-assisted development, and development copilots, while maintaining a high level of requirement for quality, documentation, and security. Mastery of modern development practices: Git, Azure DevOps or equivalent, CI/CD, testing, code reviews, technical documentation, and team collaboration. Ability to communicate with business and technical stakeholders, facilitate workshops, popularize complex concepts, and defend architectural choices. Proficiency in fluent French and professional English; German is a plus. Autonomy, curiosity, team spirit, sense of service, rigor, and a desire to learn.
