Gastronomy Specialist 55% at GZ Hirzenbach

The Zurich community centers are socio-cultural institutions for residents of the city of Zurich. The community center (GZ) Hirzenbach is looking for a gastronomy employee 55% as of 1 February 2027. This position offers you the opportunity to contribute your valuable experience in gastronomy and at the same time further develop your personal skills. As a central hub of our operation, you are an important contact point for guests, provide competent advice regarding wishes and concerns, and coordinate the smooth running of the service. Your area of activity You work in a 2-person team in a modern gastro operation with an attractive offering On Thursdays and Fridays, you prepare a maximum of two lunches for 30–40 guests You welcome adults, children, and young people and create an inviting atmosphere in the cafeteria You help shape the gastronomy offering and continuously develop it further You are co-responsible for the assortment, purchasing, and preparation with a focus on seasonal products and beverages You ensure compliance with food hygiene and manage the warehouse You instruct hourly employees, persons in non-profit assignments, and civil service workers and plan their assignments You plan the gastronomy offering for events and cooperations, organize the infrastructure, and coordinate the participating employees and volunteers What distinguishes you You bring experience in the independent management of a gastronomy offering and completed training in the hospitality industry, preferably as a chef You work independently and carefully, are well-organized, and think entrepreneurially You are a team player and maintain an open and respectful manner You are open, courteous, and appreciate contact with people of different ages and different origins You bring a joy of innovation as well as ideally experience or flair for socio-cultural work You are proficient in using Microsoft 365 and have good German language skills What awaits you You undertake a diverse activity with personal responsibility and a lot of creative freedom Your working days are: Wednesday to Friday, partly Saturday as well as during GZ events on the weekend You work at a newly renovated, lively, and well-anchored location in the neighborhood with a park area You work in a committed, motivated, and professional team and participate in regular overall team and GZ-wide meetings Depending on relevant training and professional experience, a gross annual starting salary (100%) between CHF 65'768.- and CHF 75'962.- About us and what happens next?
