• Our leading Swiss team in Transactional Transformation and Post-Merger Integration advises Swiss companies and mid-market clients to generate and create value from their Mergers & Acquisitions, Divestitures and Carve-outs. With a dedicated team of experts, we provide integration and separation consulting services, lead complex missions with our clients and deploy deep functional expertise in finance, human resources, commercial, supply chain and technology. At Deloitte, we support our clients through end-to-end M&A consulting, working closely with our colleagues from transactional services, valuations and corporate finance. As an integral part of the Strategy, Risk and Transactions business line, we also collaborate with our peers in Strategy, Sustainability, Regulatory, Forensics and Technology to ensure a seamless and value-driven approach to transactions.

How you will make a difference

• Design and validate AI use cases: collaborate with M&A practitioners to translate business problems into well-defined, testable AI applications, with clear success indicators and measurable outcomes.
• Develop end-to-end AI solutions (main focus): support the technical development of generative AI tools - from prompt architecture and few-shot design to evaluation frameworks, testing and production deployment.
• Establish evaluation and quality standards: develop rigorous testing methodologies to evaluate model outputs, validate accuracy with business expertise and measure real utility with M&A experts.
• Optimize for production: solve AI solution issues during live client engagements, refine prompts and system design based on performance data, and ensure scalability and reliability at scale.
• Build a reusable AI infrastructure: document prompt models, evaluation approaches and architectural lessons to create a foundation favoring rapid iteration and knowledge transfer within the practice.
• Collaborate across teams: work closely with M&A colleagues, the Swiss AI consulting practice and the broader Deloitte AI community to stay up to date on platform developments and emerging capabilities.

Profile sought

• Solid foundations in AI: hands-on experience with large language models (LLM), prompt engineering and generative AI in a professional or research context. Familiarity with platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or similar tools is essential.
• Technical depth in AI: demonstrated ability to design prompts, structure few-shot examples, evaluate model outputs and iterate based on performance metrics. Understanding of LLM behavior, limitations and best practices expected.
• Problem solving and systems thinking: ability to break down ambiguous business problems, design testable hypotheses, structure evaluation frameworks and iterate methodically based on evidence.
• Learning agility for business knowledge: motivation to quickly acquire operational knowledge of M&A topics (integration planning, separation, synergies, carve-outs, PMO workflows) to inform AI design decisions.
• Interdisciplinary communication: ability to translate between technical AI concepts and business language, to explain design trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and to build trust through clarity.
• Responsibility and commitment: assume responsibility for the quality and delivery of solutions, proactively identify technical risks and see tasks through to completion with high standards.
• Strong academic background: degree in computer science, data science, AI, machine learning or related quantitative field. 1 to 2 years of professional experience with AI/ML systems is an advantage.
• Language skills: fluent English required; German or French is an asset.
