ICUS 1 – Nursing Unit Coordinator

In your capacity as a Nursing Unit Coordinator (ICUS), you perform the fundamental missions of the nursing profession, to which are added responsibilities for clinical coordination, care organization, team supervision and continuous quality improvement.

You participate daily in clinical practice and the delivery of care, while guaranteeing its organization, continuity, safety and compliance with professional and institutional requirements.

Your missions include notably:

• Clinical assessment of care needs;
• clinical reasoning;
• planning of interventions;
• interprofessional coordination;
• delivery of nursing services;
• delegation and supervision of care activities;
• clinical documentation;
• communication with residents, beneficiaries, their relatives and network partners;
• health prevention and promotion;
• quality, safety and risk management;
• supervision, training and development of professional skills.

Profile sought

You are a qualified nurse called upon to exercise a local management function reconciling clinical practice, care coordination, service organization and professional skill development.

You meet notably the following conditions:

• Bachelor of Science HES-SO in nursing, ES nurse diploma or Swiss or foreign title allowing the exercise of the profession in Switzerland; foreign titles must be recognized by the Swiss Red Cross in accordance with applicable provisions;
• authorization to practice in the canton of Genève obtained at the latest upon entering office;
• confirmed professional experience in geriatrics in the support, care and coordination of services intended for elderly people; experience in psychogeriatrics constitutes an asset;
• adherence to the values and the institutional project of l'Association Les Châtaigniers;
• agile, participatory, committed professional personality, demonstrating discernment, a sense of responsibility and a marked interest in interprofessional work;
• demonstrated ability to exercise local management promoting collaboration, skill development and quality of care;
• mastery of professional digital tools in the care field, notably the computerized resident file, clinical information systems and collaborative tools; knowledge of the PLAISIR model constitutes an asset;
• good mastery of the Microsoft 365 environment, notably Word, Excel and Outlook.

Postgraduate training in management, clinical governance, quality, geriatrics, psychogeriatrics, infection prevention and control, palliative care or in any other relevant field is desired.

In the absence of such training, the selected person undertakes to undertake training adapted to the responsibilities of the position within a timeframe agreed with the Association.
