• Shape the real estate strategy of the Schweizer Armee and manage the cross-location infrastructure planning of the defense sector
• Coordinate investment, location, and usage planning with overall military and armament planning and develop it strategically
• Be responsible for real estate projects from requirement definition to realization approval and ensure the targeted use of the real estate budget
• Represent the interests of the army towards armasuisse Immobilien, federal offices, cantons, as well as political bodies and develop decision-making bases for Parliament and the Department
• Further develop standards, processes, and governance in real estate management as well as approve agreements and real estate decisions
• Lead the real estate area, strengthen cross-departmental cooperation, and advise the army leadership on all strategic real estate matters

What makes you unique

• University degree in business administration, engineering, architecture, or a comparable field, supplemented by further business or technical training
• Several years of leadership experience in a strategic leadership function with responsibility for complex organizations or large-scale projects
• Sound experience in real estate management, strategic planning, and the management of demanding investment and infrastructure projects
• Strong sense for political, economic, and organizational contexts as well as experience in dealing with demanding stakeholders
• Very good knowledge of the federal administration and the VBS; military experience is an advantage
• Good active knowledge of at least a second official language and passive knowledge of a third official language

Der Armeestab (A Stab) supports the Chef der Armee in leading the Department of Defense area and is responsible for the overall military planning and development of the Schweizer Armee. Here, according to political specifications, the strategic foundations, armed forces development, and army and armament planning are developed, and tasks in the international security context are performed. The leadership, management, and coordination of all cross-cutting areas (personnel, finance, real estate) also fall within the responsibility of the Armeestab.

The Schweizer Armee employs over 9'000 employees in four military and around 200 civilian professions -- and this at 110 locations throughout Switzerland. Provision is also made for the next generation: The Schweizer Armee trains apprentices in over 30 professions.
