It is responsible for the creation, development, and maintenance of parks, green spaces, streets, and squares, communal flowering, horticultural production, management of playgrounds, urban furniture, and fountains, as well as the maintenance of iconic sites such as Montorge, Valère, and Tourbillon. To strengthen its team, the City of Sion is putting up for competition the position of Horticulturist-Landscape Architect in charge of the creation sector H/F activity rate 80-100% with the Urban Planning and Mobility service, Parks and Gardens section. Main missions Within the creation sector, you actively participate in the realization and development of the City of Sion's outdoor facilities. You ensure the organization and monitoring of the construction sites entrusted to you, from planning to completion. As such, you participate in: • the planning, coordination, and realization of landscape development projects, playgrounds, and public spaces; • the organization of human, material, and logistical resources necessary for the proper conduct of work; • the supervision and support of teams assigned to construction sites. Moreover, you: • ensure respect for deadlines, execution quality, and safety rules; • collaborate with various internal and external partners (architects, engineers, and specialized companies); • participate in the training of apprentices and the development of team skills; • contribute to the continuous improvement and development of the creation sector. Employment conditions • CFC horticulturist-landscape architect or equivalent experience; • confirmed experience in landscape creation work; • excellent knowledge of plants and good mastery of reading plans; • ability to lead and coordinate a small team; • sense of organization, autonomy, and initiative; • ease in human relationships and team work; • good computer skills; • category B driver's license required; • BE permit, R1 forklift permit, or M2 machine operator permit are assets; • good physical condition.
