«The dignity of our clients comes first.» The Stiftung Sucht in Basel has been offering people with addiction disorders therapy, accommodation and work support, as well as survival aid for homeless people since 1972. The goal is a dignified and largely self-determined life. Haus Gilgamesch is seeking, due to retirement, from November onwards, a cook (40 – 50 %) for evening shifts, from Monday to Friday, approx. 16 – 20 Uhr (deviations possible by arrangement). Haus Gilgamesch, a facility of the Stiftung Sucht Haus Gilgamesch is a socio-therapeutic facility for people with addiction disorders, who are mostly integrated into opioid-supported treatment. In addition to around-the-clock care on all weekdays, job training is offered in the workshop Jobshop, which belongs to the foundation. The task includes reactivating existing resources and regaining independence and self-reliance in everyday life. Your tasks • Preparation of balanced evening meals for 14 – 16 residents • Independent menu planning, taking into account nutrition, individual needs, and budget • Self-responsible ordering of food in consultation with the responsible specialist • Organization of kitchen processes, including mise en place and follow-up work • Ensuring hygiene, cleanliness, and order in the kitchen according to HACCP guidelines • Sustainable and economical handling of food • Cooperation with therapeutic specialists and management • Assistance with special events You can expect an experienced, well-rehearsed team that will provide you with the necessary professional and collegial support for this interesting work.
