The Salvation Army Switzerland, as a church and social non-profit organization, offers uncomplicated support to people in challenging life situations. The Kinderheim Sonnhalde fulfills a service agreement with the Canton of Bern and works together with the cantonal youth welfare office, Directorate for the Interior and Justice.
Everyone has a childhood that they look back on for a lifetime. In Sonnhalde, we are committed to ensuring that a childhood and youth are experienced in a way that is as supportive and beneficial as possible. We offer 24 short-, medium-, or long-term places in mixed-age groups in a spacious residential complex in the green.
A healthy diet is important to us. As the head responsible cook, you are responsible for the physical well-being of the children and the employees.

Your tasks:

• Preparation of meals (lunch and dinner)
• Independent creation of the menu plan with balanced and seasonal components, including diets, intolerances, and allergies
• Responsibility for purchasing and goods management
• Execution of cleaning work to comply with hygiene regulations according to HACCP, as well as their documentation
• Active cooperation with the Head of Internal Services and the kitchen team

What you bring with you:

• Training as a Cook EFZ or several years of experience in communal catering
• Ability to grasp various connections (quantity calculation, diets, and distribution systems)
• Independent and conscientious way of working with a sense of quality
• Good oral and written German skills are indispensable for communication
• IT skills MS-Office suite
• Joy in dealing with children and adolescents
• Identification with the mission statement and values of the Salvation Army
