About the role:
- Provide strategic program leadership for the most critical and complex Medical priorities, ensuring that enterprise Medical strategies are translated into executable portfolio plans, governed effectively, and delivered with visibility, accountability, and disciplined decision-making.
- Serve as a senior PMO partner to Therapeutic Area and Medical leaders, shaping execution models, governance architecture, and cross-functional alignment for major programs, portfolios, launches, transformations, and lifecycle priorities.
- Improve enterprise execution confidence by integrating milestone management, dependency control, risk signaling, budget visibility, and escalation leadership across highly matrixed Medical environments.
- Strengthen the Medical PMO operating model by defining standards, mentoring talent, and advancing data-enabled, GCM-forward execution practices that improve speed, transparency, and consistency at scale.
How you will contribute:

- Partner with senior Medical leaders to shape execution strategy for complex initiatives, ensuring that portfolio priorities are converted into realistic, sequenced plans with clear accountabilities, resource assumptions, interdependency management, and decision forums.
- Provide enterprise-level visibility into execution health for assigned scope, synthesizing milestones, budget implications, risks, dependencies, and organizational constraints into clear leadership narratives and recommended actions.
- Drive portfolio-level governance and decision-making by facilitating high-value leadership discussions, surfacing trade-offs, aligning stakeholders around choices, and ensuring timely closure of critical decisions.
- Own the most complex risk and issue management topics within assigned scope, including systemic barriers, cross-program conflicts, resourcing tensions, and execution risks that require senior intervention or enterprise coordination.
- Guide prioritization and scenario planning with Medical leaders and PMO leadership, helping determine where to accelerate, sequence differently, de-scope, or escalate in order to protect enterprise objectives and delivery credibility.
- Provide strategic oversight of budget and resource implications for assigned portfolios, partnering with Finance and business leaders to assess execution feasibility, spending pressures, and trade-offs linked to critical path delivery.
- Shape and improve the Medical PMO operating model through refinement of standards, decision-rights, governance cadences, reporting frameworks, and digital or automation-enabled execution practices.
- Model Takeda values and reinforce a culture of integrity, scientific credibility, inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement in all PMO activities.
