Operations Manager 80–100% for a cleaning company

About the company
Our client is a young cleaning company in the Basel region. The company was founded around two years ago and currently employs around four employees. The owners have built up and managed the company alongside their existing businesses so far. Due to growth, the operational responsibility is now to be handed over step by step to a committed leadership personality.
For this exciting task, we are looking for an entrepreneurially minded and at the same time hands-on oriented personality as Operations Manager Cleaning, 80–100%.

What this position looks like
It is a young, not yet perfectly structured company that is consciously making an upfront investment with this position. In the first few months, the focus is strongly on operational cooperation – you will participate in cleaning while structures are being built together. You will work very independently, with little close supervision – a weekly operational meeting, otherwise much is ad hoc. It is expected that you actively approach customers and acquire orders yourself; in return, you will participate directly in the success. In short: a role with a lot of personal responsibility that truly requires entrepreneurial thinking and initiative.

Your tasks

• Operational leadership and organization of daily business
• Active cooperation on-site, especially in the initial phase – you are not too good to roll up your sleeves yourself
• Leadership, support, and deployment planning of employees
• Organization, coordination, and control of ongoing cleaning orders
• Ensuring high work quality and customer satisfaction
• Support of existing customers as well as processing of complaints and inquiries
• Active customer acquisition: creation of offers, visits to potential customers, expansion of the customer base
• Organization and partial operational support for special, basic, and final cleanings
• Optimization and further development of internal workflows and processes
• Close, but not overly detailed, cooperation with the owners (including a weekly operational meeting)

Your profile

• Experience in the cleaning industry is a plus, but not a requirement – training will be provided
• Initial leadership experience or experience with operational responsibility
• High degree of independence – you find work and solutions yourself instead of waiting for instructions
• Entrepreneurial thinking and a strong sense of responsibility
• Hands-on mentality and enjoyment in participating operationally yourself
• Enjoyment in contact with customers and active acquisition
• Very good German skills
• Driver's license category B
