Ensuring that everything works on and off the ice behind the scenes – that is exactly what this versatile function is about. You ensure that our employees and departments can work reliably, that our IT landscape remains secure and high-performing, and that technical challenges are solved quickly even during ongoing game operations. If you want to take on responsibility, find pragmatic solutions, and actively develop our IT, we look forward to getting to know you.
The Swiss Ice Hockey Federation (SIHF) is the umbrella organization of Swiss ice hockey. We promote and develop the sport of ice hockey in Switzerland – from youth to national leagues to our national teams. Behind the sport is a dedicated team that, with a lot of passion and professionalism, creates the best possible conditions for Swiss ice hockey operations.

IT MANAGER (M/F/D) 100%
Glattbrugg, near Zurich Airport
Your tasks
- Central IT responsibility, Service Management and support
You are the central contact person for IT topics within the SIHF and ensure reliable, pragmatic IT operations. You are responsible for the internal IT service process and ticketing, prioritize and process requests, document solutions, and coordinate our external IT partners if necessary. In addition to operational support, you continuously develop processes, standards, and IT documentation.
- Microsoft 365, Identity and Modern Workplace
You are responsible for and further develop our Microsoft 365 environment with Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and other collaboration services. This includes user, group, role, and permission management in Microsoft Entra ID, external B2B access, as well as the structured further development of our SharePoint and Teams landscape. You accompany migrations from the classic file server towards modern, traceable, and secure working methods.
- Infrastructure, end devices and IT security
You coordinate the operation of our workplace, network, and server infrastructure as well as the cooperation with our external IT service provider. You take care of end devices, meeting rooms, VPN and network access, onboarding/offboarding, as well as inventory and lifecycle topics. Security, data protection, identity and access management, updates, encryption, Business Continuity, and a clean handling of risks are fixed components of your work.
- Digitalization, automation and business solutions
Together with the specialist departments, you identify digitalization potential and implement lean solutions. In doing so, you particularly use Microsoft Power Platform, Forms, Lists, Planner, and other M365 tools for workflows, approvals, self-service, and process automation. You evaluate new technologies and AI solutions in a practical manner with a view to added value, information protection, governance, and costs.
- Digital platforms, website and sports-related systems
You work on the further development and stability of our digital platforms such as the website, Game Center, and other sports-related applications. You coordinate technical issues between internal stakeholders and external development partners, accompany releases and disturbances, and support topics such as interfaces, SSO, DNS, hosting, cloud services, and data flows.
- Project, supplier and cost management
You lead IT projects from requirements through evaluation and implementation to introduction and handover to operations. In doing so, you control external service providers, check offers, contracts, and invoices, analyze ongoing cloud and operating costs, and ensure transparent, economical solutions. You set priorities independently in a small IT setup and can prepare technical topics in an audience-appropriate manner for specialist departments and management.
- Hotline and game operation support
During ongoing game operations, you ensure availability for technical disturbances together with the participating partners, if necessary also outside of classic office hours.
What you bring with you
- You have a completed degree in the IT field or training as an Informatiker/in EFZ and bring several years of experience in a broadly positioned IT role – ideally in a small or medium-sized company with outsourced IT services.
- You have sound knowledge of Microsoft 365, especially Teams, SharePoint, and Entra ID. Experience with Power Platform, Azure, Endpoint/Client Management, or IT Service Management is a big plus.
- You combine a hands-on mentality with conceptual thinking: You solve operational disturbances independently, while simultaneously being able to establish standards, structure projects, and further develop a sustainable IT landscape.
- IT security, data protection, roles and permissions, clean documentation, as well as cost and supplier management are, for you, a matter of course in professional IT responsibility.
- You work independently, structured, and solution-oriented, can prioritize several topics in parallel, and communicate confidently with employees, management, and external partners. Very good German skills as well as good English skills are required; French skills are an advantage.
- You enjoy working in a dynamic sports environment and are prepared to pitch in situationally outside of usual office hours for business-critical topics or during game operations.
What you can look forward to
An interesting key role in the lively environment of Swiss ice hockey awaits you. You will receive a large degree of creative freedom and the opportunity to directly help shape the IT landscape and the digital transformation of the SIHF.
